Recent projects
Right now I am working on several things:
Knitting
A hairband for myself
Socks for my oldest
Socks for my youngest
Socks for myself
The Scandinavian throw
Crochet
Designing a top and panties set, the top is done.
Sewing
Sewing a black bra and knickers set.
Handsewing
A rainbow fairy set for decoration
Recently I also restarted our season decorating area. This is inspired by the Steiner philosophy. I like getting a bit of nature into our home to feel the seasons also in our home. This makes us feel closer to nature.
So the area has a nice piece of fabric in light green that we have partially hung up and partially it is laying on our Welsh Dresser. On that we have a wooden mushroom, some decoration squashes, some corn in various states, from complete, to partially without the corns, to completely without the corns. Chestnuts - with their shells, oak nuts with their chells, beech nuts with their chells, some pine cones.
We will still go out - when its not raining - to get some leaves and put those on a string and hang them at that area as well.
It just looks lovely so far.
And we will keep changing it with the seasons :-)

cable socks
For my 14yo daughter I am making socks with a cable pattern in there. I do not have a pattern for it, so I am designing them as I go. I will also publish the pattern once I am done :-) as they are starting to look really really good.
Lizzie socks
With recently bought black sock yarn I have started making an adaption of the Lizzie pattern from the Socken-Kreativ-Liste on yahoo. I found the pattern on Ravelry and it looks really great. I just wanted to add more of the lace pattern to it, so therefore I am adapting it :-)
These socks are going to be for me :-)

Shaker style throw
In the meantime I have completely re-knitted the 2 damaged blocks and it turned out really well, it was easy to put them back in and it looks like before again :-)

Shaker style throw - damaged
During our move from the UK to Switzerland my throw got damaged. 2 of the blocks are torn quite heavily, which has made me consider reknitting them completely, as repairing will be a tricky one I am sure *snif*

Scandinavian throw

Today I am trying to finish the last square that I have received of the Scandinavian throw, its a square that you knit from one corner to the other, which gives diagonal stripes, pretty neat to see.
After that I will probably not be doing much knitting for a bit, as we are about to do an international move.
Above you will see what its going to look like :-)

Finished the Shaker Style Throw
Last night I finished the last rim of crocheting around the Shaker Style throw.
The pattern said to crochet 2 rounds, first one in the colour red and the second in the colour blue. We decided that it was more fun to do red-white-blue as this is also the Dutch flag and I must say, it looks really nice.
I had not made anything like that before, because its a large project and I prefer doing projects that I can oversee better, but it was lots of fun and it is simply totally finished and laying on our couch now as you can see above. I am pleased!
Please do click on the photograph to see the whole throw, as you only see one side of it now :-)

Scandinavian throw
The next throw that the art of knitting is publishing is in scandinavian style. I didn't really know whether I wanted to make that one as well initially, but I do like the colours and I like the majority of the squares, so I decided to go for it. The first square I knit last Saturday. It was a nice cabled one, hope the rest is pretty much similarly interesting to knit.
Shaker style throw
This throw from the art of knitting is very very simple to knit, no challenges in that. I have been knitting it slowly but carefully and in the meantime I am to the level of only needing to knit 2 more squares and sewing it together, some bits of the sewing together have been done already.
I would like to finish it within the next 3 weeks as this means it will be ready to take in the car with us on our massive move. The kids would love it, as its very warm and with this it would be a very nice thing to sleep under in the 10+ hour car journey.

Lucy again
Two evenings ago I finished knitting Lucy for Ulrike. So now I am working slowly but carefully on putting it together, it doesn't go fast, but I am getting there. I still have 2 weeks to fix it.
Its a good feeling to know I will get it done :-)

Lucy for Ulrike
The last weeks I haven't really had enough time to knit, so I am seriously behind on knitting Lucy for Ulrike. This bugs me, as it needs to be done by mid November.
Gotta make more time to knit I guess. The house will have to suffer :-)
